This handsome small cabin sailboat was shown at the Wooden Boat Festival held on the Tchefuncte River just upriver from Lake Potchartrain. It is held annualy in Madisonville on the northshore from New Orleans and features all sorts of hand made wooden craft. The striking contrast of the sunlight and blue sky waters to the shadows of that ancient oak were beautiful. But the inspiration was my daydream of sailing such a fine hand crafted vessle. It was a true joy to paint.
